Everytime you leave a room, it is best to turn off the lights. Why keep them on? It wastes electricity, and it is better to save if you just turn them off.

2. Be Patient on Upgrades

The latest iPhone is here. Does that mean it is time to upgrade? Nope! People who upgrade their devices every year are spending tons of money that is not needed. Honestly, you can get great used phones and devices on the marketplace or Ebay. I have been using my iPad for the last eight years straight without an upgrade. Save money by being patient with the upgrades.

3. Enjoy Free Entertainment

Who doesn’t like entertainment, especially when it is free? Many communities, during the summer or throughout the year, put on events like festivals, movies in the park, or even live music. Free entertainment is one way to save money while enjoying life.

4. Eating At Home

A home-cooked meal tastes great, especially when you are saving money. My birthday was up, and my wife wanted to take me out for a steak dinner. The choice was to spend a ton of money on steak or go to the store or a local butcher, buy the steak, wine, and vegetables, and save while enjoying good food. Cooking the food was much more enjoyable, and it saved money. Learn how to cook, and then learn how to save at home.

5. Drink Less

A good whiskey or beer is great to have once in a while, but if you drink less, you will save more money. The amount of money going towards alcohol could create a massive hole in your wallet, so drink less to save more.

6. Eat Less Meat

Meat happens to be one of the more costlier items in a meal. So if you are looking to save money, you could opt for a meal with less meat. That could be as simple as a great meatless pasta dish or even using eggs as a protein substitute. Less meat could mean more money in your pocket.

7. The Library Is a Golden Source

The library is not just a great spot to borrow books; it offers so much more. You can rent DVDs, have internet, andsometimes mom groups meet up for child-friendly events. The library offers so much so use it.

There are many Facebook groups where people sell things and even give away items for free. How cool is that? For example, in my life, I furnished my whole house with free stuff from people. My TV is a 14-year-old Samsung, and my bed is a 7-year-old Ikea bed from a family. There are plenty of things people are giving away so take a look and save some money.

9. Wash Clothes in Cold Water

It not only saves on your electric bill, but for those cotton clothes, you can also save on the shrinkage of those items. Heating the water every time can come at higher costs for you, so opt for cold water washes.
